Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Authors agree to abide by the international standards for responsible research publication for authors, provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics: http://publicationethics.org/resources/international-standards
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format.
  • All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca) are activated and ready to click.
  • The text uses 1.5 line spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic conventions as seen in a recent issue.
  • The text has had the authors' names removed. If an author is cited, "Author" and year are used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of author's name, paper title, etc. The author's name has also been removed from the document's Properties, which in Microsoft Word is found in the File menu.

Author Guidelines

Style Guide Please use APA 5th Edition 2001. See the following site for an example of APA style: http://inet.acu.edu.au/node.cfm/30877A04-38D0-4377-A62766D134F1BEB5 Your paper will be formatted in the IJEI publisher template during the final copy editing stage. Submissions should be in a word document, using no more than 2 levels of headings, Times New Roman 12 point font, 1.5 spacing, and no more than 7,000 words in total, including references. Graphs, tables, diagrams, etc should be included at the correct place in the text. Please provide around 100 words of author biodata in a separate document. The paper itself should not include your name or any other identifying information, and any self references should simply be listed as Author. The best way to adhere to the IJEI referencing convention is to download a recent paper from the IJEI and use the reference list as a guide. Work should be original, not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
